Boxing Instructor
Peter Wilson has been training and competing in boxing, Muay Thai, and MMA since 2014. A former lightweight champion with a 12-2 MMA record, Peter brings real competitive experience and technical knowledge to every class.
Peter began coaching on California's Central Coast, working closely with the 805 Kickboxing fight team while cornering athletes and leading MMA, BJJ, and Muay Thai classes. After moving to San Diego in 2022, he spent more than two years coaching at BXNG Club before building a striking program at 99 Jiu-Jitsu, where he served as Head Boxing Coach. Peter is USA Boxing certified and brings a sharp, thoughtful approach to helping students develop both the mental and technical sides of combat sports.

Ernesto brings an old-school boxing approach built on strong fundamentals, proper technique, discipline, conditioning, and attention to detail.
His coaching emphasizes boxing IQ, safe training, smart progression, and mitt work that helps each student sharpen technique. Whether someone wants to compete, get fit, or simply learn the art of boxing, Ernesto tailors his training to the individual while building work ethic, confidence, and control.

Jiu Jitsu Instructor
Johnnie Medina is a 3rd Degree Black Belt, military veteran, retired law enforcement officer, and experienced martial arts instructor with more than 20 years on the mats.
His teaching style is structured, patient, and detail-oriented, with an emphasis on fundamentals, safety, real-world application, and steady long-term progress. Johnnie helps students of all ages build confidence, stay composed under pressure, and develop practical Jiu Jitsu skills both on and off the mat.

Lexee began her martial arts journey at Poway Martial Arts in 2020 as a complete beginner and grew into a coach through consistency, dedication, and a love for combat sports.
Her coaching is built around fundamentals, repetition, and progression. She breaks techniques down step-by-step, blends skill development with conditioning, and creates a positive environment where students can train safely, improve confidently, and enjoy the community of the gym.
